Lions Eye Screening 2011 cum Eye Care Talk was commission because there was a fund surplus left over by the Lions World Sight Day 2010 cum Public Lecture.
Lions Eye Screening 2011 cum Eye Care Talk was organized on Sunday 10 April 2011 (0900 through 1500 hrs) at The Cheng San Community Club at Ang Mo Kio.
The event was a roaring success. The Guest of Honour was Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and the other Members of Parliament Ang Moh Kio GRC including Mr. Inderjit Singh, Dr Lam Pin Min, Mr Seng Han Thong & Mr Yeo Guat Kwang came a visiting too. There were 2 other National Election new candidates on the PAP ticket Mr. Ang Hin Kee & Dr Intan Azura Mokhtar were also present to lend support. This Lions event is probably, the most well attended by distinguished dignitaries who included the Prime Minister, Members of Parliament, DG Steven Seah, 1VDG Singa Retnam, 2VDG Irene Tan, PCC SG Chin, PCC Dr Winston Koh, PDG Henry Tan, PDG Han Thien Fong, Professor Arthur Lim, Professor Donald Tan, grass-root leaders and many others, all were in the LSSC T-Shirt. A total of 418 senior citizens were screened and there were many attendees too for the Eye Care Talk. The Organizing Chairperson was Lion Leslie Yong and Co-Organizing Chairperson was Lion Lim Sin Tat with over 100 Lion & Leo members, SNEC & Community grass-root officers & staff in attendance.

DG Steven Seah commissioned the LIONS WORLD SIGHT DAY 2010 cum Annual Lecture.
Lions World Sight Day 2010 was marked in Singapore on Sunday 10 October 2010 at The Jelutung Community Club at Canberra and was covered and reported by Channel NewsAsia. It is the collective effort of LCI District 308-A1, Singapore National Eye Centre, The Jelutung Community Club @ Canberra and Lions SaveSight Centre (Singapore) together with the Lions Clubs in Singapore. The event was graced by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Mr Lim Boon Heng, Member of Parliament Sembawang GRC Dr Lim Wee Kiak, District Governor Steven Seah, Honorary Lion Prof Arthur Lim, Honorary Lion Prof Donald Tan, community grass-root leaders, Lion dignitaries, Lion members, SNEC staff and invited guests numbering over 300 senior citizens for eye screening and about another over 200 persons for the Annual Lecture. Professor Wong Tien Yin delivered the Annual Lecture. The Annual Lecture was very well received by the attendees and the presentation can be downloaded here.

DG Anthony Tay commissioned the inaugural LIONS WORLD SIGHT DAY 2009 and also the first Annual Lecture.
Lions World Sight Day 2009 was marked in Singapore on Sunday 11 October 2009 at Kampong Kembangan Community Club and was covered and reported by Channel NewsAsia. It is the collective effort of LCI District 308-A1, Singapore National Eye Centre, Kampong Kembangan Community Club and Lions SaveSight Centre ( Singapore ) with Eunos CC, Kampong Ubi CC, Ponggol CC and Whampoa CC. The event was graced by Minister for Community Development, Youth & Sports Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Member of Parliament Marine Parade GRC Dr Ong Seh Hong, District Governor Anthony Tay, community grass-root leaders, Lion dignitaries, Lion members, SNEC staff and invited guests numbering about 200 senior citizens for eye screening and about another 300 persons for the Annual Lecture. Honorary Lion Professor Arthur Lim delivered the welcome address and Honorary Lion Professor Donald Tan delivered the Annual Lecture. Coordinated by District 308-A1, Kampong Ubi CC, SNEC & LSSC. The attendance is about 300 pax of Lions & the public. The event was graced by GOH Ong She Hong & VIP Guest Hon Lion Prof Arthur Lim with DG Anthony Tay presiding at the event. The speakers were Prof Heng Wee Jin, Dr Lim Li and Dr Jod Mehta.
